American Legion Post 251

Interstate Poker Club, a Bar Game Promotions company, finished its pre-holiday food drive with a record haul – 20,000 cans of food, topping 5 metric tons and eclipsing last year’s total of 9,600 items.

The league operator and its players continue to give back to the community and military veterans through an annual canned food drive, which began in 2007.

Donations were delivered to American Legion Post 251 on Monday, November 19 on Highway 120 in Duluth.

Staff and volunteers spent hours loading food items onto Interstate Poker Club trucks and trailers Monday morning.

An onlooker commented that “hauling Texas Hold ‘Em tables is one thing, but carrying tons of food is a totally different ball game. It’s a wonder the tires didn’t give out.”

American Legion Post 251 operates a warehouse and store year-round, delivering food and other household items to veterans and the families of troops deployed overseas. The Post also supports a children’s home on Hamilton Mill Road, Lawrenceville-based, National Guard families and other veterans in need throughout the year.

Interstate Poker Club Delivers

Shane Maxwell, CEO of Bar Game Productions and former United States Marine, said “The food donations and upcoming toy drives give the players and those of us at Interstate Poker a way to show our appreciation for those who served our country. We have been able to help feed hundreds of families since the first year. It’s amazing that free poker makes this all possible.”Players can donate canned food items at any Interstate Poker event. The league begins its Toy Drive after Thanksgiving and encourages charitable giving throughout the year.
